Karen Alberts

ROCKFORD - Karen Sue Alberts, 68, of Rockford, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Born on September 30, 1956 in Chicago, IL. The second child and only daughter of Howard and Arlene Borde. Karen shared a love of art with her mother and an interest in law with her father. Her greatest passion was her family and she was happiest when surrounded by loved ones.

She was a wonderful reflection of God's love in life, and in the sentiments of her passing; a peace and comfort to those she leaves behind, including her husband, Brad Alberts; 3 children, Kimberly Marx of Rockford, IL, Jimmy (Dennika) Marx of Greenville, AL and Cody Alberts of Rockford, IL; 12 grandchildren, Haley, Emma, Dominic, Addison, Donavin, Logan, Lulu, Hannah, Isley, Carlos, Jack and Eleanor; 3 great-grandchildren, Lavayah, Oliver and Annalise; brothers, Sam (Janki Deodat) Borde and David (Julie) Borde; and numerous extended family members and friends. Karen is preceded in death by her parents; and is lovingly reunited in Heaven with her beloved daughter, Regina Marx.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 827 16th Street, Rockford, IL, immediately followed by a Gathering of Remembrance at the SM&SF Club, 1010 Sandy Hollow Rd., Rockford IL.
