Karen Alane Marx

SHIRLAND - Karen Alane Marx, 61, of Shirland, IL passed away Monday October 2, 2023. Born on December 23, 1961 in Union, South Carolina to Robert & Patsy Whitener (Cash). Karen was a woman of great warmth and kindness with a deep love for her family and a passion for the Arts. She had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling, attending musical concerts and capturing moments through her photography. Karen also had a love for the open road and found much joy in riding motorcycles. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend; she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Terry Marx; children, Terry (Leeanna) Marx II and Karianne (Brian) Johnson; and grandchildren, Kain, Elizabeth & Annabella. She is predeceased by her parents, Robert & Patsy Whitener; sister Deborah Potts; and brother, Joel Whitener.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Wednesday October 18, 2023 at 12:00 noon at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 noon. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the Family.
