Kenneth James Dorrough

ROCKFORD - Kenneth "Ken" James Dorrough, age 48, of Rockford passed away peacefully Wednesday November 23, 2022 as a result of a major stroke while working at Subway. Born on August, 22, 1974 in Chicago, IL to Frederick William & Annette Dorrough Sr. (Taylor). He attended John Marshall High School and graduated from Job Corps. Things never came easy for Ken, but he never used that as an excuse. He just worked that much harder to accomplish anything he wanted. He worked from the day he turned12 until the day he died, even trying to work as he lay on his death bed. He was known for his "war stories", because with Ken, there was no story if you didn't jazz it up a bit with a few little white lies. A devoted Christian, Ken accepted Jesus as his Lord & Savior at a very young age.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Miranda; son, Martavis "Bullet" Dorrough; daughter, Amena; mother, Annette Dorrough; siblings, Frederick "RIC" (Jacqueline) Dorrough Jr., Jamell "Gumby" (Markeda) Dorrough and Michelle Dorrough; uncles, James Otis (Yvonne) Taylor and Joe (Rosemary) Taylor; nieces & nephews, Jasmine, Bryell, Mycheal, Diamond, Katlyn, Kennedy, Jabreia, Jade, Jamia, Christopher, Nicholas and Crystal. He is predeceased by his father, Frederick William Dorrough Sr.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Saturday December 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Avenue, Rockford, with visitation from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the Family.
