Kermit "Chub" Norton

ROCKFORD – Kermit "Chub" Norton, age 73, of Rockford passed away peacefully Friday July 20, 2018. Born in Marshall, NC on April 16, 1945 to Gay & Edna Norton (Rice). He married Cherie Anne Giacone on December 6, 1968 in Aurora and worked as a Union Lineman for 46 years. A proud North Carolina native, he loved playing cards and camping in Fort Atkinson, WI. Beloved father, grandfather, brother and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.


He is survived by his children, Traci (Curt) Anderson, Todd Norton and Robin Domzalski; grandchildren, Megan, Mark, Diamond, Draven and Nicholas; sisters, Barbara (Pete) Sherman and Melda (late Curt) Wright; dear friends, Rod Stoker and Steve (Linda) March; sister-in-law, Patricia Norton; and numerous nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Cherie on March 18, 2008; sister, Verna Hyman; and brother, Truman Norton; and his parents.


Funeral services held Thursday July 26, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave. Rockford. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday July 25, 2018 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Memorials to the family.
