Lawrence Lee Penning

ROCKFORD – Lawrence Lee Penning, age 54, of Rockford passed away peacefully Saturday, February 1, 2025. Born in Rockford on July 21, 1970 to Charlotte Lamay. A genuinely one of a kind character, Lawrence loved cracking jokes and playing tricks on anyone and everyone. He loved animals and the freedom of the open road driving truck. His true pride and joy were his nieces and nephews, he most enjoyed spending time with his family & friends. Beloved brother, uncle and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by sisters, Lisa Griep and Lynette Penning; daughter, Alexis; nieces & nephews; Michael, Kelsy, Madison, Tabitha, Thomas, Stacey and Baron; and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his mother, Charlotte Lamay.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Monday, February 17, 2025 at 5:00 pm the Rockford Rusty Nail, 1804 18th Ave, Rockford, IL 61104. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
