Born in Peach Orchard, AR on July 20, 1942 to Walter "Buddy" & Willie May Davis (Booth). The family moved to Rockford in1955. Lee attended East High School and graduated in 1960. His first job outside of working in the cotton fields was pinsetting at the bowling alley inside the Faust Hotel. This was before the automatic pinsetters and it was known to be a dangerous job when the pins went flying. He was also employed at Piggly Wiggly, Colonial Bread, Greenlee Brothers and Apex Boring. He retired from KR Machine, as a Devlieg operator, in 2010.

A proud Veteran, he served his country in the US Army in Vietnam. He received several medals which included Army Commendation Medal (for valor and heroism), Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal (from the Republic of Vietnam) and Vietnam Service Medal.

Everyone who knew Lee would agree that he was not only known for his generous spirit and good heart, but also for his quick wit and wicked sense of humor. He will dearly be missed by his beloved wife, brother, sister, daughter, grandchildren, step-children, step-grandchildren, great step-grandchildren and dear friends. He will remain in our hearts forever.
