Lee Robert Ryden

ROCKFORD - Lee Robert Ryden, age 75, bravely passed away at home in Rockford on February 6, 2024 after a courageous fight against cancer with his loving wife Jessica, of 54 years, at his side. He leaves behind daughters, Amy Ryden and Kimberley (Derrick) Hilton; grandchildren, Jasmine (William) and Adonis; great-grandchild, Jordyn; and loyal bird dog, Wrigley.

Lee graduated from East High School class of 1967 and worked as a carpenter with Local 792 for over 40 years. He enjoyed his 13 years of retirement at his cottage in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Lee was passionate about sharing his love for hunting, fishing, golfing and wildlife with his family and friends. Lee was also a Master falconer for many years and enjoyed birds of prey, basketry and woodworking.

Our "Papa" will be sorely missed by all. We would like to thank our friends for their love and friendship during this difficult time. A very big "Thank You" to the Nurses and Doctors at UW Swedish American Hospital and Northern Illinois Hospice who took such good care of our Papa. God bless you all. Celebration of Life Memorial held at a later date. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
