Leslie Stone Jr.

ROCKFORD – Leslie Stone Jr., age 73 of Rockford passed away peacefully Tuesday October 9, 2018. Born in Marion, IL on February 24, 1945 to Leslie C. & Edna Lavine Stone (Smith). A professional horseshoe pitcher, Les loved throwing bags & shoes and building beautiful bag boxes. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years, and never passed on a game of Texas Hold'em. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.


He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pamela Kay Stone (Welch); children, Patrick (Kelly) Stone, Gail Stone, Les Stone, Stoney Stone, Cody (Shelby) Stone, Casey Stone and Brianna Stone; special grandchildren, Jose & Cody, as well as numerous grand and great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Odum; brother, Gene (Donna) Stone; daughter-in-law; Jessica Stone; brothers & sisters-in-law; Diane Welch, Jim (Lynn) Willard, Ron (Darla) Steward, Cindy Stone and Jackie Stone. He is predeceased by his parents; daughter, Sheila Stone; siblings, Brenda Wedding, Victor Stone and Danny Stone; father & mother-in-law; Arthur (Dorothy) Welch; brothers & sisters-in-law, Jack (Sue) Welch and David Welch.


Funeral services held Thursday October 11, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., with visitation from 5:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family.
