Linda L. Nieves

ROCKFORD – Linda L. Nieves, age 62, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Saturday July 31, 2021. Born in Rockford on October 28, 1958 to Lester Lea & Patricia Van Blaricom ( Bushnell ). An avid gardener, Linda enjoyed cooking, a good Western and her many vacations in Mexico. She loved gathering the family for cookouts and spending time with her grandchildren, her true pride & joy. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend, she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her cherished husband of 43 years, Reynaldo Nieves; children, Andrea (Darius Ellis) Nieves, Reynaldo Nieves and Chris Nieves; grandchildren, Marsean Caldwell and Darius "DJ" Ellis Jr.; dear friends, Thomas (Cindy) Gonzalez, Laurie Ortega and Melissa Bell; and beloved dog, Khloe. She is predeceased by her brother, Terry Van Blaricom; father, Lester (Kate) Van Blaricom and mother, Patricia Van Blaricom.

Funeral Services held Friday August 6, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3 rd Avenue, Rockford. Visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 12:00 noon. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Rockford. Memorials to the family.
