Magdaleno Rivera Alegria

ROCKFORD – Magdaleno Rivera Alegria, age 67, of Rockford passed away peacefully on Thursday December 28, 2017. Born in Chimaltitan, Mexico on June 17, 1950 to Rodolfo & Maria DeJesus Alegria (Rivera). He loved collecting antiques, inventing, donkeys and traveling to Mexico. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Josefina (Muñoz); Juanita Alegria, Maria Alegria, Chico (Melissa) Alegria, Aaron (Marie) Alegria and Rigoberto Alegria; grandchildren, Joe, T'anna, Jo'Juan, Anthony, Aleena, Mathew, Adrian, Amore and Esabella; siblings, Delia, Pablo, Rigoberto, Vicenta, Santiaga, Samuel, Rodolfo, Everardo, Pascual,Maria Leticia (Eduardo) Aguirre, Manuel, Juan Carlos, Jesus and Fransisco; dear friends, Rodolfo, Elias, Liopoldo and Latrell; numerous nieces & nephews and beloved dog, Mona.

Mass of Christian Burial held Friday January 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church, 617 Lincoln Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass at 10:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family Thursday January 4, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave. Rockford. Cremation rites accorded.
