Margarita Colon

ROCKFORD – Margarita Colon, age 74, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home Wednesday March 23, 2022. Born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico on December 26, 1947 to Gilberto & Fidelina Perez (Gonzalez). Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend, she will remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ismael Colon; children, Rafael (Irma) Colon and Diana Colon; grandchildren, Bianca and Sebastian; mother, Fidelina Perez; sister, Diana; brother, Gilberto; many nieces & nephews and many dear friends. She is predeceased by her sons, Carlos and Ismael Jr.; and her father, Gilberto Perez.

Funeral services held Monday March 28, 2022 at 12:00 noon at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 noon. Interment at Cedar Bluff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the OSF Cancer Center.
