Mark J. Mesdag

ROCKFORD – Mark Johann Mesdag, age 57, of Rockford passed away peacefully Monday March 7, 2022. Born in Rockford on October 12, 1964 to Gerhard & Carol Ann (Rice). A proud Veteran of the US Navy and member of the American Legion & Blackhawk Athletic Club. Mark was a die hard Chicago Bears & Cubs fan, he adored his nieces & nephews and truly enjoyed spending time with family. Beloved son, brother, uncle and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by father, Gerhard Mesdag; siblings, Kurt (Margaret) Mesdag and Deonel (late Michael) Hardy; niece, Ashley (Joshua); great nephews, Christian & Elijah; cousins, Hans (Debbie) VandenBrink and Katie (Blair) Adami. He is predeceased by his mother, Carol Ann Mesdag; and uncle, Leslie Rice.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Saturday March 19, 2022 at 12:00 noon at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3 rd Ave., Rockford, with visitation from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 noon. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the family.
