ROCKFORD – Mary Pat Pryor, age 71, of Rockford and formerly of Chicago passed away peacefully Wednesday August 22, 2018. Born in Evergreen Park, IL on August 18, 1947 to John & Rita Nugent (McDonald). Mary Pat worked as a librarian for many years at St. Anthony School of Nursing and Rockford Public Schools, as well as an archivist at Rockford College. After retirement she found much joy volunteering for Womanspace, local community charities and was an active & proud member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend; she will remain in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Raymond (Torrie Benson-Pryor) Pryor III and Kevin (Christi McCallun) Pryor; grandchildren, Mason & Lucy; siblings, Michael (Joyce) Nugent, Mary Alyce Bender, Mary Ann (Matthew) Schultheis and Mary Catherine (Joseph) Buckie; numerous nieces & nephews; and dear friend, Pat Weitzmann. She is predeceased by her parents; brother, Stephen Nugent; and sisters, Maureen Nugent and Mary Christine (Ron) Murray.
Memorial Mass held Thursday August 30, 2018 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd., Rockford, with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorials to: Brain and Behavior Research Foundation – bbrfoundation.org
