Michael W. Szura

BELVIDERE – Michael Walter Szura, age 76, of Belvidere, IL and formerly of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully Monday July 27, 2020. Born in Waukegan, IL on March 2, 1944 to Henry & Lillian Szura (Turczynowicz). A proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, Michael retired as Chief Engineer of the Tremont Hotel. He loved fishing, barbecuing and enjoying the company of those he loved. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Szura (Jankowski); children, Deborah (Harold) Mulkey and Natalie Szura; granddaughter, Desiree Mulkey; brother, Conrad Szura; half brother, Andrew Szura; numerous nieces & nephews; and many beloved friends. He is predeceased by his siblings, Roland Szura, Charlene Rosentreter and Alan Szura; and his parents.

No Services are planned at this time. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please light a candle in remembrance of him or make a donation to the American Heart or Kidney Foundation.
