Miriam McKevitt Jacobson

ROCKFORD - Miriam "Mimi" McKevitt Jacobson, 76, of Rockford passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026 in her home. She was born February 11, 1950, in Rockford, Illinois, to Gertude and Harold Pedersen. She grew up in rural Rockford. She graduated from Iowa State University with an education degree. Mimi married Bruce L. Jacobson on July 8, 1978, in Rockford. She worked as a teacher in the Harlem School District and later as a paraprofessional for Rockford Public Schools, taking some time in between to raise her 3 children, Leslie, David, and Lindsey. Mimi was a member of Centennial United Methodist Church and was active in the choir, breakfast club, and chimes.Mimi was an active member of Daughters of the American Revolution and dedicated a lot of her time to genealogy. She would want her children and grandchildren to know how incredibly proud she was of them and that she cherished the good bye hugs given when leaving after every visit. She will be missed by them everyday in her absence.

Survivors include husband, Bruce Jacobson; children, Leslie LeBeau and David Jacobson of Rockford and Lindsey (Nathan) Kinsey of Hampshire; grandchildren, Ryan and Adriana LeBeau and Samantha Kinsey; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; and brother, Philip (Terrie) Pedersen.

Memorial Services to be held Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 11:00 am at Grace United Methodist Church, 3555 McFarland Rd., Rockford, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am. Pastor Audrey Rochet officiating. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the Family.
