ROCKFORD - Nayeli "Naye" Mosqueda Vazquez, born on January 21, 2002, departed from this world on April 16, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of Evangelina Vazquez (Nestor Tafolla) and Abel Mosqueda (Victoria Trejo). Naye's journey was marked by her resilience, determination, and boundless spirit. Despite her diagnosis of autism, Naye never allowed any obstacle to dim her aspirations. With unwavering determination, she pursued her dreams and achieved remarkable success.

Naye's educational journey was a testament to her dedication and passion for learning. She proudly earned her High School Diploma from Guilford and embarked on courses at Rock Valley College. Naye found fulfillment in giving back to her community. Over the last 3 years, she volunteered at the YMCA, Riverbluff, and other organizations. Naye participated in the Special Olympics, where she earned two prestigious awards, demonstrating her athleticism and competitive spirit. Naye also loved to dance and play Mario Bros.

Naye leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration. She is survived by her devoted parents, Evangelina and Abel, and her cherished siblings, Abel Mosqueda, Sofia Tafolla, Brittany Mosqueda, Elih Mosqueda, y Noe Mosqueda. Naye will be deeply missed by her extended family, including the Tafolla, Mosqueda, and Vazquez families, as well as by her many friends and acquaintances whose lives she touched with her radiant spirit.

The outpouring of love and support from Naye's YMCA and Guilford family, teachers, her dear friend Bryce, and her loved ones has been a source of comfort during this difficult time. A special thank you to all who have offered their support, love, and kindness during this time of grief. Your presence and compassion have been a source of solace and strength for Naye's family and friends as they navigate this profound loss.

Funeral Services held Saturday April 20, 2024 from 2-4 pm at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Ave., Rockford, with Vigil Services at 2pm and 4pm. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the Family.

The family kindly requests that attendees wear blue in commemoration of Naye's favorite color, a symbol of her vibrant personality and enduring presence in their lives. May Naye's memory be a blessing, and may her legacy of love and resilience continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
