Paula Corona Castillo

ROCKFORD – Paula Corona Castillo, age 87, of Rockford passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday January 29, 2017. Born in Uvalde, TX on March 2, 1929 to Sabino & Louisa Corona Ozuna. Paula worked for many years and retired from River Bluff Nursing Home. She loved to crochet, knit, cook and bake. Beloved mother, grandmother and dear friend, she will remain in our hearts forever.

She is survived by six daughters and son-in-laws, Ramon and Pauline Manriquez, Linda Salcido, Margarita Martinez, Diana Camacho, Steve and Esther Jimenez, Josephine Manriquez; along with 22 grandchildren and their spouses, Daniel Manriquez, Robert and Chris Manriquez, Mike and Monica Villareal, Juan Manriquez, Mark Salcido, Ignacio and Irma Alfaro, Ismael Salcido, Priscilla Polk, Angelica Mohr, Tony Martinez, Fernando and Andrea Severiano, Jose M. and Erica Camacho, Crystal D. Camacho, Steve Jimenez, Pedro and Sara Jimenez, Jessie, Vicente, Amanda, and Sandra Jimenez, Melissa, Elizabeth, and Jessica Manriquez; along with 27 great grandchildren, Tiana Medina, Brittany, Matthew, and Evan Manriquez, Emilio, Michael, Lorenzo and Viviana Villareal, Eduardo and Cecilia Andrews Santiago, Angel, Isabel, Gabriela, Daniela, Alejandro, and Annabel Alfaro, Felecia Polk, Noah Mohr, Alicia, Priscilla, Stephanie, Emily and Victoria Severiano, Kensington, Roman, Evangeline Camacho, and Enjoli Jimenez; 3 great great grandchildren; Selena and Kobe Andrews and Isahias Santiago.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Trinidad E. Castillo; sons, Raul Castillo and four infant sons; as well as many siblings.

Funeral Services to be held on Thursday February 2, 2017 at 2:30 pm at Firstborn Ministries, 8213 N Alpine Rd., Loves Park, with visitation from 1:30 pm until the time of services at 2:30 pm. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the family.
