Peter Gonzales

ROCKFORD – Peter Gonzales, age 60, of Rockford passed away peacefully Saturday January 16, 2021. Born in Rockford on July 12, 1960 to Loyd & Celerina Gonzales (Vicencio). Always smiling, laughing and ready to crack a joke or pull a prank, anyone who met Pete loved him. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back for you. He never complained and always did what he could to help others in need. His many hobbies included fishing, listening to music, making Halloween masks, metal detecting and collecting everything from belt buckles, rare coins and vintage newspapers; but don't touch his Pepsi – he loved his pop. He adored his family and cherished taking pictures and recording home movies of his true pride & joy; his children, grandchildren and nieces & nephews. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Della G. Gonzales (Croom), children, Amanda (Jonathan) Harris, Lisa (Ryan) Powell and Jesse (Cassandra) Gonzales; grandchildren, Destiny, Elizabeth, Alexis, Amerious, Anthony Jr., Carter, Andrew, Donnie and Angelina; siblings, Maria Fessenden, Gloria (Dave) Ford, Loyd Gonzales Jr. and Jose (Dee) Gonzales; numerous nieces & nephews; and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his son, Anthony Gonzales Sr.; brother, Carlos Gonzales; and his parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Friday January 22, 2021 at 5:00 PM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3 ^rd Avenue, Rockford, with visitation from 2:00 PM until the time of services at 5:00 PM. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family.
