Ralph A. Wright

ROCKFORD - Ralph Anthony Wright, affectionately known as "Pah Pah", was born December 10, 1951 in Chicago, IL to James Ball & Alberta Wright. Ralph was always very bright, outgoing and engaging. He loved trivia and history. He also loved reading the bible, sharing his testimony and definitely spending quality time with family and friends. Ralph attended Farragut High School for general studies. He later achieved education and accolades in business and management. Ralph worked for such companies as Hollywood Video, Dollar General & 7-11. He received honorary awards, both community and professional, while working for these companies.

Ralph loved and married Gina Coleman. During their 40 years together, they raised 5 children and helped raise several grandchildren. Ralph & Gina joined Elgin Family Worship Center (Elgin, IL) under Pastor Robert Atlas where he was ordained as a Deacon in 2007. Ralph & Gina became members of HarvestGate Bible Fellowship (Odessa, TX) under Pastor Calvin Knighten where he was ordained as a minister in 2017. Ralph & Gina volunteered for many organizations and gave as much as they could to touch the lives of others.  In July 2017, Ralph & Gina moved back to Illinois (Rockford) to be closer to their grandchildren. Ralph was called to rest on December 20, 2018 after over 5 years of battling cancer.

Those proceeding Ralph in death include his beloved daughter Micquelyn Wright; his parents, James Ball & Alberta Wright; and his brother in law Amos "Jack" Jackson.

Those who will continue to cherish his memory include his treasured wife Gina Wright; his children LaDonne Knighten (Calvin), Damond Ford, Zavion Wright & Severiano Wright; his inherited daughters Andrea McAbee, Mercy Yadao, Qiana Darden, & Lashonda; his grandchildren Joseph Knighten, Terrell Ford, Aaliyah Ford, Joshua Wright, Zanaya Wright, Jeremiah Wright, Amina Wright & Alina Wright; his siblings Alice Lyles (Hillside, Il), Eleanor Wright (Palatine, Il), Glen & Vicky Wright (Park Forest, IL);  his in laws Charles Coleman Jr. (Calumet City, Il), Tristan Coleman (Chicago, IL), Kimberly Larkin-Davis (Denver, CO), Jacqueline Coleman (Henderson, NV), & April Coleman (Chicago, IL) as well as a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
