Ray Mitchell

GALESBURG – Ray Charles Mitchell, age 78, of Galesburg, IL passed away peacefully Monday December 23, 2024. Born in Galesburg on April 28, 1946 to Sylvanus & Florence Mitchell (Callison). A graduate of Galesburg High School, Ray retired after 20 years of service working as a crane operator at Koppers Inc. in Galesburg. Beloved father, grand & great grandpa, brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by children, Terri Jo (Brian) Duke and Michael (Cheryl) Mitchell; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Lynn) Mitchell; and many dear friends. He is predeceased by 3 brothers; 2 sisters; and his parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial held at a later date. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the family.
