Reynaldo B. Nieves

ROCKFORD – Reynaldo B. Nieves, age 73, of Rockford passed away peacefully Tuesday June 4, 2024. Born in Tayahua, Zacatecas, Mexico on January 3, 1951 to Alberto & Andrea Nieves (Barajas). An avid gardener and thrifter, Reynaldo enjoyed classic car shows, collecting radios and meeting with friends for a hot cup of coffee & donuts. Beloved father, grandfather and dear friend, he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his children, Andrea, Reynaldo & Chris Nieves and Melissa Bell; grandsons, Marsean Caldwell, Darius "DJ" Ellis Jr. and Ramon Alfaro; great grandson, Elliott Alfaro; dear friends, Thomas (Cindy) Gonzalez, Laurie (Miguel) Ortega and Kico Santiago; and beloved dog, Khloe. He is predeceased by his cherished wife of 43 years, Linda L. Nieves (Van Blaricom); 2 sisters; and his parents.

Funeral Services held Friday June 7, 2024 at 12:00 noon at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Avenue, Rockford, with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 12:00 noon. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Rockford. Memorials to the family.
