Richard James Glover Jr.
ROCKFORD – Richard "Rick" James Glover Jr., age 58, of Rockford went to heaven on Tuesday December 19, 2017 at his home. Born in Rockford on Tuesday April 7, 1959 the son to Richard James & Verna Lee Glover Sr. (Bowen). Rick graduated from Jefferson High School, class of 1977; and had friends all over the world. A United States Army Veteran, he served in the US Army from 1982-2004. He was very proud to be able to protect the United States of America. Rick was an amazing father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle; but most of all a great friend to all. He will remain in our hearts forever.
He is survived by his mother, Verna Glover; children, Richard (Tonya) Glover III and Desiree Glover; four beautiful grandchildren, Aaliyah Glover, Richard James Glover IV, Landon Glover and Novina Glover; siblings, David (Karen) Bowen, Virginia Linder, Mike (Nancy) Glover and Sandra Deskins; several aunts & uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Richard James Glover Sr., grandparents, and several aunts & uncles.
Celebration of Life Memorial to be held on Thursday December 28, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Avenue, Rockford, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 noon. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family.
The family would like to give a big Thank You to Northern Illinois Hospice, especially Kristin, Elizabeth, Lisa, Mallory, John and Ken. Also two very special caretakers Karlen and Aunty Jane.
