Rick Barnes

LOVES PARK – Richard "Rick" Eugene Barnes, age 59, of Loves Park passed away peacefully surrounded by family Saturday January 4, 2020. Born in Rockford on February 27, 1960 to Marshall W. & Charlotte L. Barnes (Robinson). A skilled mechanic Rick loved fixing, restoring and renovating all things needing repair. From mowers to vehicles he loved bringing old things back to life. When he wasn't tooling in the garage, he enjoyed camping, darts and singing his favorite tunes on karaoke night. He will be truly missed by his pride & joys, his beloved grandchildren. Loving father, papa, brother, uncle and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his children, Marshall (Mandy) Barnes, Amy (Jeremy Moreau) Barnes and Toby (Amy) Barnes; grandchildren, Katie, Peyton, Caleb, Mia and Taylor; sisters, Kelly (Rusty) Brewer and Jodi Vardell; nephew, Andrew (Alysha) Vardell; as well as numerous beloved family & friends. He is predeceased by many aunts & uncles and cousins; and his parents.

Funeral Services held Saturday January 11, 2020 at 3:00 PM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3 ^rd Avenue, with visitation from 1:00 PM until the time of services at 3:00 PM. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family.
