Robert Alan Richter

MACHESNEY PARK – Robert Alan Richter, age 69, of Machesney Park passed away peacefully Saturday May 27, 2023. Born in Rockford, IL on June 13, 1953 to Joseph H. & Rose E. Richter (Mickelson). An avid outdoorsman, Bob loved camping, fishing & hunting and was genuinely the master of unplanned road trips. He enjoyed classic Westerns on the TV, sitting down with a good book (sometimes both at the same time) and was truly a self proclaimed food connoisseur of Jerky & Cheese. Beloved husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Deborah Lynn Richter (Moore); children, Cora (Anthony King) Richter, Adam (Melissa) Richter and Paul (Heather Pingo) Richter; grandchildren, Kelcie, D'Nazia (Devan), twins Bailey & Kyla, Anthony Jr., Ashlyn and Caleigh; great grandchildren, Remi, Dezmond and Dezirae; siblings; Carol (late Ron) Lutovsky, David Richter, Diane (late George) Lutovsky, Brian (Deb) Richter, Sam (Mike) Terronez; sisters-in-law, Merrie-Lynn Johnson and Sue Richter; special in-laws, Larry (Henrietta) King, Torie King and Don (Liz) Davis; numerous nieces & nephews; many dear friends; and beloved dog, Toby. He is predeceased by his children, Robert Jr. & Angelique; brothers, Anthony, Larry, Ron (Mary Lou), Rick and Greg; sister, Dawn; several nieces & nephews; and his parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial held Saturday June 17, 2023 from 5-8pm at the American Legion Post 1207, 1011 S. Alpine Rd., Rockford. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the Family.
