Roger Thomas Hoffman

ROCKFORD – Roger Thomas Hoffman, age 92, of Rockford passed away peacefully Sunday, October 12, 2025. Born in Monroe Center, IL on September 28, 1933 to Walter & Minnie Hoffman (Hackbert). He married Helen M. Miller August 15, 1958. An avid Bluegrass Music enthusiast and adventurist, Roger loved playing his guitars, fishing, studying astronomy and the sciences; and his engineering side enjoyed building things and figuring out how everything worked. Beloved husband, father, grandpa and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Helen M. Hoffman (Miller); sons, Michael (Kathy) Hoffman of Justin, TX and William Hoffman of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Anne (Josh) Light, Richard (Ashley) Hoffman, Monica (Chris) Irwin, Matthew (Elaneline) Leisher, Patrick Hoffman and Jared Hoffman; great grandchildren, Christopher Irwin Jr., Adam Irwin, Timothy Hoffman, Izabellah Light, Aleyah Light, Zachary Light and Corey Irwin; great great granddaughter, Gracie Irwin; numerous nieces & nephews; and many dear friends. He is predeceased by daughters, Kathy Hoffman and Susan Robinson; sons, Roger Jr., Steven & Timothy; 4 brothers; and his parents.

Private Graveside Service at the Monroe Center Cemetery. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the family.
