Ronald "Torgy" Torgerson

MACHESNEY PARK – Ronald Roy "Torgy" Torgerson, age 62, of Machesney Park and formerly of Rockford passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Born in Rockford on June 19, 1963 to Avery & Josephine Torgerson (Tomasino). A proud Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan, Ron had a passion for music, especially the Blues, fishing and spending time with his friends and family. He truly loved the many motorcycle trips down Route 2 with Janet hugging him tightly on the back and his many friends riding by his side. Beloved husband, father, papa and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Janet L. Torgerson (Turner); daughters, Jennifer (Josh) Parks and Becky (Keith) Feltz; grandchildren, Roslyn, Trinity and Kamryn; siblings, Andrea (Dan) Nagle, Julie Gahl (Mike Morrison), Tinley Proudfoot, Wayne Gahl and Keith (Nikki) Gahl; dear friends, Carl & Pat Dittman, Dave Barrone and Tommy Edlund; He is predeceased by his parents.

Celebration of Life Memorial to be held Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 1-5 pm at SM&SF Club, 1010 Sandy Hollow Rd., Rockford, IL 61109. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
