Stephanie Marie Martin

ROCKFORD - Stephanie Marie Martin, age 26, of Rockford tragically lost her life on Thursday April 12, 2018 along with her fiancé, Anthony Schnell. Born on September 9,1991 in Rockford, Stephanie was adopted as an infant to her parents William & Virginia Martin (Henson). She graduated from Forreston High in 2010, and aspired to be a veterinarian technician and continued her education at Rockford Career College. Stephanie was a kind hearted person and helped anyone that needed her.  She had a love and passion for animals and brought home and cared for every stray she came across.  Stephanie overcame many obstacles in life and had finally found the love of her life, Anthony "Pony" Schnell.  They were engaged to be married. Beloved daughter, sister, fiancé, aunt and dear friend; she will remain in our hearts forever.


She is survived and will be deeply missed by her parents, William (Virginia) Martin; siblings, Briana Martin, Shirley (Wade) Steines, Krista (Brennan) Jones, Tyler Schoon, Leslie (Heather) Law, Tressie Nesemeier, Wendell Law and Bonnie Law; as well as numerous nieces & nephews, aunts & uncles, cousins and countless friends; her two furbabies, Tytan and Stormi have also felt the loss of Stephanie. She is predeceased by her biological father Theodore "Teddy" Law; grandfather, William Law Sr; siblings, William Law Jr., Jason Law and Michael Steines.


Celebration of Life Service held Monday April 23, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Christenson Funeral Home,925 3rd Avenue, with visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of services at 1:00 PM. Per Stephanie's request white attire is appreciated. Interment at Cedar Bluff Cemetery, Rockford. Memorials to the family.
