Steven Robert Miller

ROCKFORD - Steven Robert Miller, 67, passed away on Monday April 9, 2018 at his home in Rockford, IL. Steve was born in Rockford, IL to Roger and Eleanor Miller on June 27, 1950 and graduated from Guilford High School in 1968. He enjoyed a highly successful career in the printing industry, where he worked in sales and accounting. He spoke fondly of his days on the baseball and softball field, always mentioning his ability to hit for power from both sides of the plate. After hanging up the cleats, Steve made the transition to baseball Dad, spending most of his free time watching and coaching his sons on the diamond. Steve enjoyed spending time with loved ones at the place he loved most, 'the lake'. Whether it was fishing, playing a round of golf, or having a 'meeting on the beach' he loved telling stories and laughing with friends and loved ones. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend; he will remain in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Nadine; sons, Erik (Tara) and Chris (Tricia); grandchildren, Vance and Brianna; siblings, Dave and Nancy. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Eleanor Miller.

A memorial service will be held at a date to be determined this Summer at the Miller's lake house in Elkhorn, WI. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
