ROCKFORD – Thomas Franklin Henson Sr., age 66, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Thursday August 13, 2020. Born in Rockford IL on November 22, 1953 to William "Bert" Henson & Lorraine K. Smith (Watts). Tom enjoyed music, fishing and watching Gunsmoke, Bonanza or any classic Western. A die-hard Washington Redskins fan, he enjoyed the family rivalry in rooting for his favorite team. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Laurie Ann Walker (Henderson); children, Thomas Henson Jr. and Amanda (fiancé James Faries) Henson; grandchildren, Brittany, Kayla, Nathan, David, Shaina, Triston, Nevaeh, Christyna, and Madison ; great grandson, Damien; siblings, Dave (Rebecca) Henson, Martha Henson, Shirley Cook and Debra Smith;numerous nieces & nephews; father-in-law, Ralph "Pops" Henderson; dear friend, Lee Smith; and beloved dog, Liberty. He is predeceased by his parents; sisters, Virginia and Mary; and dear friend, Russell Beck.

Services are Private. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials to the family.
