Virginia "Jenny" Martin

ROCKFORD - Virginia "Jenny" Martin (Henson), age 70, of Rockford earned her angel wings on Thursday June 20, 2019 at home surrounded by family & her fur babies. Born March 12, 1949 in Huntington, WV to William "Bert" Henson & Lorraine K. Smith (Watts). Jenny attended West High School and enjoyed spending time with family & friends, dancing, concerts, helping others and was loved by everyone.  She was known for taking in every stray animal and child, or anyone in need of help. She was known to many as the "Rockstar Mom". Jenny married the love of her life, William "Bill" Martin on February 23, 1994. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Jenny is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Wendell (Patricia) Law, Tressie (Miguel Toledo) Nesemeier, Bonnie Law, Briana Martin all of Rockford, and Leslie (Heather) Law of Racine, WI; siblings, Dave (Rebecca) Henson, Thomas Henson Sr., Martha Henson and Shirley Cook all of Rockford, and Debra Smith of Florida; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; special uncle, Harry Watts Sr.; many nieces & nephews and cousins; and her fur babies, Recks, August, Bailey, Baby, Tytan & Stormy. She is predeceased by her parents; children, Theodore "Teddy" Law, William "Billy" Law Jr. and Stephanie Martin; adopted sons, Michael Steines and Jason Law; sister, Mary Street; and grandson, Jeremy Lee Law.

The family would like to send a special Thank You to a special nurse at the Rockton Mercy Health system; Kim Muller RN. Thank you for going above and beyond and for all of your kindness & love shown to Mom during her days there. An extra special Thank You to her sisters, Marty & Shirley for taking such good care of her while she was home in her final days. We can't thank you enough.

Funeral Services held Friday June 28, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3 ^rd Ave., with visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of services at 1:00 PM. Interment at Cedar Bluff Cemetery, Rockford. Memorials to the family.
