Wesley Bruce Mclean

ROCKFORD – Wesley Bruce McLean, age 70, of Rockford passed away peacefully Saturday July 13, 2024. Born in Rockford, IL on May 28, 1954 to Raymond Francis & Darlene B. McLean (Simms). A former member of Harlem High School ROTC, Wes attended the University of Illinois at Champagne. He enjoyed volunteering as a former Knights of Columbus; during the Christmas season he dressed as Santa collecting, distributing and donating to numerous local Rockford events and charities. He had a kind soul and always made a special point to visit family and friends on special events or just to bring a little cheer. A passion for fast cars and any type of racing he could find, Wes enjoyed the little things; like smoking the good stuff, growing his own special blends, music, fishing and always rooting for the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame football. Beloved father, grandfather, brother and dear friend; he will remain forever in our hearts.

He is survived by children, Melanie (Ralph) Fetterly, Donna (Jamie) Ketchum, Vincent McLean and Karley (Chris) Kramer; grandchildren, Veronica McLean, Jaxon Ketchum and Dani Kramer; former spouse, Merrianne McLean (Davis); brother, Mike (Joy) McLean; several nieces & nephews, cousins and many dear friends. He is predeceased by sister, Raelene McLean; brother, Mark McLean; parents; grandparents; and several special aunts & uncles and cousins.

Memorial Service held Saturday July 27, 2024 at 3:00 pm at the Christenson Funeral Home, 925 3rd Avenue, Rockford with visitation from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm. Cremation rites accorded. Memorials to the family.
